
Charcas Colonial and Anthropological Museum
Considered as one of the most important museums, it belongs to San Francisco Xavier of Chuquisaca University. It operates in an old house, a property whose architectonical structure belongs to the 17th century.
Charcas Colonial Museum
It's one of the most important ones corresponding to vice royal art. The works of art show a mixture of different schools, such as Italian, Flemish, Spanish, and Andean, from Cuzco, from Quito and from Charcas', represented by famous painters like Montufar, Francisco de Padilla, Melchor Perez de Holguin, Gaspar Miguel de Berrio and others.
Anthropological Museum
The archaeological hall shows a wealthy collection of ceramics, weapons, metal and stone tools, as well as objects finely made by local cultures of the pre-inca period. It is complemented with the Physics-Anthropology hall, which has and important collection of trepanned and deformed skulls, mummified bodies and what is likely to be a double human sacrifice.
